Tourism in the United States is a large industry that serves millions of international and domestic tourists yearly. Foreigners visit the U.S. to see natural wonders, cities, historic landmarks, and entertainment venues. Americans seek similar attractions, as well as recreation and vacation areas. The second largest state in the United States, Texas is known as the "Lone Star State" - presents a wealth of natural assets and cultural attractions. Geographically, it is southern central location offers a variety of landscapes, ranging from desert regions and from caves to mountains, canyons and splendid coastal scenery along the Gulf of Mexico. Its world-class cities are also a big draw and are packed with tourist attractions. Texas has a large tourism industry.
The state tourism slogan is "Texas: It's like a whole other country." Tourists might enjoy San Antonio and El Paso's Hispanic culture, or Fort Worth western attractions. Galveston, Corpus Christi, and Padre Island are some of the popular Texas resort areas located on the Gulf of Mexico. Houston is Texas' leading convention city along with its Southern culture. Dallas is also one of the nation's leading convention cities as well as San Antonio. Professional and college sports are dominant in both Dallas and Houston.
Nearby attractions include the San Antonio River; galleries and museums in Dallas, Fort Worth and Houston; The State Capital of Austin; and the Houston Space Center. Texas is also one of the most multicultural states, and Spanish influences.
One of the main reasons I chose this topic is that I find Texas the most amazing place I have ever visited. The fresh faces of the people, the traditional culture and also the specific language of Texas made me think that this American state is another culture and civilization that impressed me.
Another the main reason is country music. In my free time I listen more to songs of this music genre. Texas country music is a rapidly growing subgenre of American country music. Texas is known for combining the sounds of traditional roots. Traditionally, the Texas scene has been a male-dominated genre, although many women have had a successful chart in recent years. Neither, the birthplace nor the place of education seems to be calculated in the definition of an artist in the Texas country, as long as the origin is not in the corporate scene in Nashville because the genre tends to be anti-Nashville.
Texas is so big and diverse that it’s practically its own country. The Texas landscape ranges from desert badlands and swimmable coastlines to lush mountains and sprawling prairies. Its communities go from the heights of urban sophistication (and size!) on down to the tiniest, most charming out-of-the-way towns.
There is surely no shortage of Country culture here: rodeos, line-dancing and ample opportunities for an adventure by horse or mule. And then there’s the barbecue. It’s hard to find a better place on this planet for a plate of ribs or brisket. The legendary Franklin Barbecue in Austin can boast all-day waits and it is worth it.
